Dharwad: Congress candidate Vinay Kulkarni, who won by a margin of 18,114 votes against BJP candidate Amrut Desai from Dharwad Rural Constituency, expressed his gratitude to the voters in an emotional video message.

Kulkarni was not allowed to enter Dharwad district due to his alleged involvement in the ZP member Yogish Gouda Goudar murder case. Despite being barred from the district, Kulkarni’s campaign was led by his wife Shivaleela Vinay Kulkarni, which ultimately led to his victory.

Out of the 11 candidates who contested in the election, no one except Vinay and Amrut secured four-digit vote counts. Interestingly, the NOTA option received the highest votes after Amrut, with a count of 1,510.
