Dharwad: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi received an unexpected phone call while addressing press persons in Dharwad regarding “Yuva Janotsava” on Sunday. On the other end was none other than Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.
Joshi and Akshay Kumar had a brief talk, and Joshi informed him about the five-day event happening in Dharwad that would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12, and he asked the superstar to come as a guest for the valedictory function. Kumar informed the Union Minister that it was not possible for him to join the valedictory function on January 16, as he will be flying to London on that day. The Bollywood star said he could attend the inauguration programme, and for this, the Union Minister said that he would “get back to him.”
Joshi informed the scribes that “Rashtriya Yuva Janotsava,” a youth festival, is being organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, and it is a part of Rashtriya Yuav Saptha, he said.
After COVID, the event is being organised for the first time in Karnataka. The event’s main venue would be Karnatak College in Dharwad, but the venue for the inaugural ceremony has yet to be decided, and the details of the venue would be shared later, he said.
