Video: Hubballi Rural police nab three for auto-rickshaw racing on National Highway

Hubballi: The Rural Police have arrested three and seized three autos and one car for allegedly racing on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway on Wednesday.

Police Inspector Murugesh Channannavar said that the autorickshaw racing had become routine for the accused, and they used to do it every morning. They used to start early in the morning and used to finish by 6.30 a.m., hence it was not noticed by many.

Recently, the police got a tip about the race, and our team went near Noolvi  Cross where they were allegedly doing a race and nabbed the accused. A few bikers and drivers managed to flee the scene with their vehicles.

The arrested have been identified as Imam Jafar Ballari, a resident of Kairati Oni, PB Road in Hubballi, and Faruk Savanur, a resident of Kandoli Vaddya Datta Mandir in Kalangod in South Goa. And Ganesh.

According to the police, they are investigating the case, and it is possible that they were doing it for the thrill; whether money was involved in the race is being probed. Hubballi Rural Police have opened an investigation into this matter.
