Sirsi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai sought the blessings of Marikamba in Sirsi on Sunday, the CM went to the temple along with Basavaraj Horatti, Chairman of the Legislative Council, and Minister CC Patil.
The CM was in Temple Town to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for development projects.
The CM offered a special prayer to the Goddess and prayed for the welfare of the state. Speaking to reporters Bommai said that the government is requesting many requests regarding the formation of new districts and he received memoranda from Sirsi people forming the new Sirsi district bifurcating Uttar Kannada district. However, the CM made no firm statements regarding the demand for the formation of a new district.
