Hubballi: Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar chaired a meeting with twin city police officials on Friday. In the meeting that lasted over three hours, the ADGP got all the information related to law and order from all the police stations, said sources.

Sources said that Alok Kumar gave some instructions to the police. It is said that the ADGP found delays in investigations into a few serious crimes like murders, assaults, and rapes. He instructed them to complete the investigations into these crimes and file charge sheets.

Police sources said that the ADGP instructed the policemen to visit crime spots immediately, whatever the nature of the crime may be. He said that cops should keep a strict vigil on the anti-social elements that destroy the peace and tranquilly of society. He directed inspectors to warn anti-social elements after preparing their lists, said sources.

Alok Kumar also instructed inspectors to curb meter interest loan lending activities. If it is active, it means that rowdies are active, hence it should be curbed. He also instructed them to conduct rowdy parades and warn them and keep a track of their movements as well.

Before the meeting, the ADGP visited many police stations in the city and viewed their style of working. Alok Kumar posed a few questions to the police during the inspection of the stations. He asked police officers about the active organizations which were involved in disturbing communal peace. He instructed them to update the list of such organizations regularly, said sources.
