Update on NIA raids in Karnataka

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) is conducting searches at 13 locations in six states in connection with an IS module-related activities case. In Karnataka also, they conducted raids on two locations this morning; they nabbed one suspect in Tumakur’s Jaynagar and another one from Bhatkal. The Tumkur suspect is said to be a student studying in a college, reported local media. The NIA will question them in Bengaluru, said reports.

The NIA is searching for the suspects’ houses and their work locations in Kolhapur and Nanded in Maharashtra. Bhopal and Resian in Madhya Pradesh; Bharuch, Surat, and Navasari in Gujarat; Araria in Bihar; and Deoband district in Uttar Pradesh. This raid was conducted to obtain evidence to submit a charge sheet in the case.
