Hubballi: On Tuesday (September 11), Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw will dedicate the renovated new building of the Dharwad railway station. The building was renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 19.5 crore.
The posh new structure is the ideal fusion of Dharwadian culture and contemporary architecture.
The building’s design is based on biophilic architecture, which helps to lift incoming passengers’ spirits. Biophilic design is used in the vertical garden at the entrance to the station grounds and the high-rise columns in the concourse that permit natural light into the structure. The new station building perfectly balances opulence and effectiveness. The minister will inaugurate it at 12.30 PM. Prior to taking part in this event, the minister will release postal stamps in memory of Pt. Sawai Gandharva at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubballi at 11
Later in the afternoon, the minister will also inaugurate the third entry/exit point on Mantur Road that will help passengers access platforms six, seven, and eight.
He will flag off for the service of Hubballi-Hazarath Nizamuddin Express new train service.
