Hubballi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal Pralhad Joshi has directed that construction on the six-lane bypass between Hubballi and Dharwad begin immediately, citing the availability of 90 percent of the land for the work.
He instructed the company to not wait till the entire land acquisition is completed. He said the process of the remaining 10 per cent of the land would be made available, hence the company should not make any delay in initiating the work.
He also instructed Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde to monitor the work on a daily basis. He said all the departments should work in tandem and all the no-objection certificates from various departments such as HESCOM, water supply, forest, railways, and others should be received at the earliest so that the work can begin. And the shifting of utilities on this stretch should begin at the earliest, he instructed officials.
Joshi convened the meeting of the officials in Hubballi on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, NHAI, and HESCOM officials.
