On February 28, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will be in Belagavi and he will lay the foundation stone for five national highway projects worth Rs 3,972 crores.
Speaking to reporters, Belagavi MP Mangala Angadi said that the minister would lay the foundation stone for five projects worth Rs 3,972 crores. The event will be attended by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal Pralhad Joshi, PWD Minister CC Patil, and others, she said.
Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for the 40.07 km long Belagavi-Sankeshwar six-lane bypass, which will be executed at a cost of Rs 1,479.3 crore. He would lay the foundation stone for six laning of 37.836 km between Sankeshwar Bypass and the Maharashtra border at a cost of Rs. 1,388.7 crores.
Sanquelim-Jamboti- Belagavi two laning work will be executed at a cost of Rs 246 crore. Construction of a two-lane (Vijayapura- Sankeshwar section) with a total length of 79.7 km at a cost of Rs 766.64 crore. The widening of two lanes from Siddapur to Vijaypura, of NH 561, A, she said.
