Hubballi: The political temperature is set to rise in Hubballi-Dharwad, as Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to hold a crucial meeting with BJP leaders today.
This much-awaited gathering is expected to take place in the evening and will witness the attendance of senior leaders, including Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, among others. The meeting is likely to cover a wide range of issues pertaining to the upcoming elections, with the focus being on the seven constituencies of the district.
Shah’s visit to the twin cities has been eagerly awaited by BJP supporters, and it is expected to provide a major boost to the party’s prospects. The Union Home Minister is expected to land at Hubballi airport around 5 PM and will be staying in the city for the night.
Apart from the meeting, Shah is also scheduled to hold a roadshow in Gundlupete, where he will campaign for party candidate Devaraju. Later, he will fly to Alur in Hassan district, where he will hold a roadshow for candidate Manjunath. From there, he will fly back to Hubballi via Mysuru.
Sources close to the BJP have also confirmed that Amit Shah will address an open rally in Rabakavi tomorrow, which is expected to draw a massive crowd.
With the assembly elections just around the corner, Shah’s visit to Hubballi-Dharwad is being seen as a crucial move by the BJP, which is hoping to retain power in the state. The meeting is likely to set the tone for the party’s election campaign and galvanize party workers and supporters ahead of the polls.
