Hubballi: Two-time BJP corporator Laxman Gandgalekar will be joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on November 27 with his supporters at the party office in Vikas Nagar.
Speaking to reporters, AAP Central Constituency Coordinator Vikas Soppin said the party has been further strengthened by the joining of the leader. The party would make use of his experience to build and strengthen it.
Laxman Gandgalekar said he decided to join the party after looking at the administration delivered by the AAP national convenor, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and said that he was impressed by his work.
He himself had gone to Delhi to see the Delhi model of government and was impressed by the mohalla clinics and government schools they built and the way they initiated development works in the national capital. He said he was fed up with family politics in the BJP.
Gandgalekar accused MLA and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar of not giving him enough opportunities. He said they promote Shettar’s concerns about his family and encourage family politics, and they hardly give opportunities to grassroots-level workers like him.
Former corporator and JD(S) leader Raju Ambore formally joined the party in Bengaluru a few weeks ago in the presence of senior leaders.
AAP leaders Mallappa Tadasad, Basavaraj Terdal, SP Hubballikar, Revansiddappa, and others were present.
