Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil had issued an order on Sunday evening in this regard. As per the order, people were allowed to buy vegetables and milk between 6 am and 8 am.

The police started patrolling at 7.30 am asking the vegetable vendors to windup for the day, they even asking milk parlour owners to down the shutters.

By 8 am all the roads started wearing a deserted look. The residents extended their support to the lockdown by remaining indoors. However, few people were seen roaming on the roads and police were seen inquiring them and they fined those who failed to provide a genuine reason for being out there.

The police were seen patrolling on main roads and arterial roads as well, but despite this few were seen using interior roads to reach their destinations.

As per the orders by the district administration, people will be allowed to buy groceries and other essentials between 6 am and 10 am on Thursday ( May 27) and Friday ( May 28).
