Belagavi: In a deeply distressing incident, a father and son tragically lost their lives due to electrocution in Udikeri village within the Bailahongal taluk on Friday.
The victims have been identified as Prabhakar Humbi, aged 71, and his son, Manju Humbi, aged 31. According to sources, the unfortunate incident unfolded when Prabhakar ventured into a shed attached to his home to feed the cows on Friday morning. While standing inside, he inadvertently came into contact with a wire that was supporting an electric pole. At that moment, electricity surged through the wire due to the previous night’s rainfall, resulting in his electrocution.
Seeing his father in distress, his son rushed to his aid, but he, too, suffered an electric shock in the process. Tragically, Prabhakar lost his life on the spot, while his son succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
