Hubballi: Removing parts of Hazrat Syed Mehmood Shah Qadri Dargah near Bhairidevarkoppa was not required to widen the road, as the road near Dargah is very wide and it was being removed only to hurt the sentiments of Muslims, said Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagar Zilla Congress president Altaf Hallur.
Speaking to reporters near the Dargha, Hallur said with an intention to hurt the sentiments of Muslims and to destroy the communal harmony, the government has imitated this process. Road widening was not at all required here as the road is wide enough and it was not all causing the traffic snarls. He said in the name HDBRTS, the government is demolishing the dargah. The HDBRTS width is less than 30 ft in some areas, but they are planning to wide beyond 45 ft in front of the dargah.”For Muslims it is a black day ,” he said.
Shifting of tombs
He said that they are planning the shifting of all three tombs to a private land near the dargah and they are seeking the help of technical experts.
