Bengaluru: Those who were yelling on television about the state’s lockdown and presenting speculative rumours about it got a clear response from Health Minister Dr. Sudhakar, who clarified all the confusion and asked the media to report the matter responsibly.
He told reporters that people had experienced problems in the past because of lockdowns. Speculative news reports and the dissemination of rumors, he added, would cause unneeded anxiety among the public. “Instead of instilling fear in individuals, social media should be used to educate them. With folded hands, I urge that no rumors regarding the lockdown be circulated. There is no proposal before the government to put the state under lockdown. There isn’t a lot of information on the Coronavirus Omicron variant. a genomic sequencing report will throw more light on the characteristic of the variant,” he said.
