Hubballi: Imagine losing your mobile phone, a device that has become an essential part of our lives, especially when you’re preparing for one of the most challenging exams of your life. That’s precisely what happened to Dharwad DC Gurudatta Hegde when he was getting ready for his civil service exam in Delhi.
Sharing his experience at an event organized by the Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissionerate to return the recovered mobile phones on Thursday, Hegde said that he too lost his mobile phone while he was preparing for civil service exam while traveling somewhere in Delhi.
He approached the police but nothing happened; he said. In the past, lost phones were considered lost forever, and registering a complaint at a police station was a futile exercise, back then, said the DC.
But now, thanks to technological advancements, the police can use innovative methods to trace and recover lost phones. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of utilizing such technology to enhance the quality of service across various departments.
The event was attended by DG/IGP Praveen Sood, who commended the efforts of the Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissionerate in returning recovered phones to their rightful owners.
