Hubballi: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that the Solapur-Kurnool expressway, which will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 12000 crore and cover 337 kilometers, connecting Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, will prove an engine of growth for the Kalyan Karnataka region.
He was speaking after laying foundation stones for six-lane work of Hubballi Dharwad bypass and other national highway projects in Hubballi. He said that the expressway is being implemented in three packages in Karnataka. The corridor will pass through Yadgir, Kalaburgi, and Raichur districts, covering 117 km. It will be implemented by spending around 6,000 crores and it will be completed by 2025. The work of the expressway begins in the next six months, he said.
He also said that Yadgir bypass work at an estimated cost of Rs 160 crore, Kalburgi bypass at an estimated Rs 1,500 crore will be implemented.
Gadkari also gave his approval for the construction of 35 road under bridges in this region while speaking to the crowd.
