Hubballi: The Sixth Oxygen Express has reached ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru at 8:40 am on Friday. It had started from Kanalus, Jamnagar, Gujarat on May 20.
A signal-free ‘Green Corridor’ was created by the Railways to enable swift transport of this Oxygen Express, i.e. this train has run stoppage free and has not had to wait for crossing/passage of another train.
The train has carried four Cryogenic Containers and carried total of 72.94 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen.
So far, Karnataka has received 712.94 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen by Rail. Indian Railways has so far run 208 Oxygen Expresses and transported nearly 13319 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 814 tankers to all over the country to assist state governments in their fight against Covid -19.
TWO MORE OXYGEN EXPRESS TO REACH ICD WHITEFIELD TODAY AND TOMORROW RESPECTIVELY
Two more Oxygen Expresses are also on the way to Karnataka. The 7th Oxygen Express carrying 120 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen by six containers has departed from Tatanagar, Jharkhand at 05:50 pm on May 20, this train will reach today (Friday) by night at ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru.
The 8th Oxygen Express carrying 109.2 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen by six containers has departed from Kanalus, Jamnagar, Gujarat at 8:40 pm on May 20, this train will reach on early hours of May 22 at ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru, said SWR officials.
