MG Motor India has launched its second electric vehicle, the MG Comet EV, at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it the most economical electric car in the Indian market, surpassing the Tata Tiago EV, which is priced between Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), as well as the Citroen e-C3, which ranges from Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 12.43 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bookings for the MG Comet EV will begin on May 15th, while deliveries of the vehicle will start from May in certain markets.
Features of MG Comet EV
The MG Comet EV is a compact electric car packed with features, including LED lights, dual-tone space grey interiors, and smart-tech features like a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. It has a high-strength body, IP67-rated battery, and safety features like airbags and ABS with EBD.
The vehicle has a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a claimed range of 230km on a single charge. It has three drive modes and three regen modes, and the charging cost can be as low as Rs 519 per 1,000km.
