Bengaluru: The Sadashivanagar police have arrested an accused who had stolen valuables from senior Congress leader and former minister MB Patil’s house.

The accused has been identified as Jayant Das, who worked as a laundry worker in MB Patil’s house. The police have seized Rs 70,000 cash from him, a watch worth Rs 50,000 and a mobile phone.

The accused has been working at Patil’s house for the last five years as a laundry worker. According to the police, one and a half months ago, six valuable watches, some foreign currency, and a mobile phone were missing from Patil’s house. Siddu, a cook at Patil’s house, warned the other workers to return the valuables or else he would lodge a police complaint. After this warning, Jayant did not turn up for the work, said Siddu.
