Hubballi: The section of the half-ring road connecting NH 63 (Gadag Road) and NH 218 (Kusugal) is ready for inauguration, while the road connecting NH4 and NH 63 is nearly complete. According to NHAI officials, only a minor amount of the work is still pending and will be completed within the next month.
If the remaining work gets completed in the next one month on the stretch between NH 63 and NH4, traffic in the centre of Hubballi will be reduced significantly. As vehicles bound for Bengaluru, Karwar from Gadag and Vijayapura skirt the city and reach the highway directly.
Due to the movement of traffic, particularly trucks and buses, destined for highways, arterial routes in the heart of Hubballi are frequently congested. Once completed, the half-ring road will divert all of this traffic away from the congested city streets.
