Hubballi: South Western Railway (SWR) alert railway staff saved a life on Tuesday.The SWR officials said that the track maintainers who were on duty between Annigeri and Hulkoti noticed a 40-year-old man was trying to end his life by coming before a goods train. The track maintainers immediately alerted the loco pilot of the train, and he applied emergency brakes. The train came to a halt before it could reach the man.
Rustam Sab Nalband and Basavaraj Huded are the track maintainers. The duo gave the person first aid and shifted him to Hulkoti. SWR general manager Sanjeev Kishore honoured the track maintainers and presented them with certificates of appreciation.
