Hubballi: An interesting incident happened during Union Minister Piyush Goyal’s meeting with industrialists to seek suggestions to prepare a manifesto for the assembly election on Sunday. The Minister was addressing the industrial community for the creation of an election manifesto.
As he was passionately speaking about the rich legacy, heritage, and culinary specialties of the Dharwad district, his eyes twinkled with an unfulfilled desire—a craving for the famous Dharwad Pedha. With a mischievous glint in his eye, Goyal turned to the leaders on the dais and playfully wondered why they had not offered him this delectable sweet. His words had barely left his lips when the mayor of the city, Iresh Anchatgeri, sprang into action. With lightning-fast reflexes, he whipped out his phone and dialed a number, determined to satisfy the minister’s sweet tooth. As the meeting continued, Goyal’s attention was momentarily diverted as he caught sight of something moving towards him. It was a plate of the coveted Dharwad Pedha, glimmering in the light like a shining beacon of sugary goodness.
Anchatgeri had worked his magic, and the minister’s craving was finally being fulfilled. With gratitude in his heart and a smile on his face, Goyal accepted the offering and took a bite of the heavenly treat. Not only that one or two packets of this famous sweet also accompanied the space of the minister’s car.
The minister later left for Hubballi Railway Station to have a glimpse of the world’s longest platform.
