Davangere: As the hijab issue is not dying down, in the Davangere district, a few boy students came to school wearing skull caps (Taqiyah) and a few girl students wearing hijabs on Tuesday. When the teachers noticed this, they asked them to take off their caps and hijabs. The students removed the caps and hijab after community leaders convinced them to.
The incident happened in a school in Sasvihalli village in Honnalli taluk.
Davangere police said that the issue was resolved after the meeting. The community leaders persuaded the students to remove their skull caps and hijabs and follow the court’s instructions, and they did listen to their words. In the evening, the CPI of Honnalli Circle and Tahsildar had a meeting with the community leaders and the issue was cleared, said the police.
