Bengaluru: Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar has said that Karnataka has reported 12 new cases of the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus. With the fresh 12 cases, the total number of Covid Omicron variant cases touched 31.
He said a 20-year old female, a 56-year old male, and a 54-year-old female, all from Bengaluru infected with the virus, and a 27-year old male who returned from Ghana, a resident of Mangaluru, a 9-year old girl, a resident of Mysuru, who returned from Switzerland, tested positive for the infection.
The minister informed that a 31-year-old male, a 42-year-old male, an 18-year-old female, a 21-year-old male, and an 11-year-old female, all tested positive for the Omicron variant and they were all residents of Bengaluru, returned from the UK, and a 49-year-old female from Bengaluru, returned from Denmark, and a 59-year-old female returned from Nigeria were among the infected, said the minister.
