Jaipur, 21 May (HS): Three family members were killed and several others were injured after a speeding automobile hit them as they were standing on the roadside here on Sunday morning, according to authorities.
They said they had returned from Haridwar after giving final rites for a family member and were waiting to be picked up by a relative at Doi Ki Dhani in Chaksu tehsil here. “Three people were killed in an accident, including a woman and her son. Three other people were hurt,” stated Assistant Sub-Inspector Madan Choudhary.
According to him, the automobile driver who abandoned his vehicle and left the scene was presumably drunk because a liquor bottle was retrieved from the vehicle. Sunita, her son Golu, and her brother-in-law Sitaram were among those killed.
They returned after delivering the final rites for Sunita’s husband Madan. According to them, the remains were held in a mortuary at a hospital in Chaksu for post-mortem.
