Hubballi: South Western Railway earned total revenue of Rs. 7771 crore from all sources as of March 22, 2023, breaking the previous record of Rs. 6133 crore for the last fiscal year 2021-22.
For the first time, South Western Railway has achieved a milestone of originating passenger revenue of Rs. 2686 crore up to March 22, 2023, which is Rs. 562 crore (11.10%), higher than the previous best of Rs. 2124 crore (registered in 2019-20).
In 2021-22, SWR earned Rs. 4189 crore in freight revenue and now we have recorded Rs. 4514 crore in this financial year up to March 22, 2023, which is 7.75 % higher. Also sundry revenue of Rs. 306 crore was registered against Rs. 168 crore during 2021-22.
