South Korea Strengthens Semiconductor Ties: Focus on Netherlands, U.S., and Japan
Seoul: In a significant move, President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea announces plans to enhance semiconductor collaboration with the Netherlands, the U.S., and Japan.
This decision comes as the Dutch government aligns with the U.S. to limit China’s access to advanced chip technology.
Notably, the Netherlands hosts ASML, crucial for chip production, with Samsung and SK hynix as major clients. President Yoon emphasizes the strategic importance of the semiconductor industry amid global competition for technological dominance.
During his upcoming visit to the Netherlands, Yoon will be the first foreign leader invited to ASML’s cleanroom, highlighting the industry’s paramount significance.
