Hubli Express News

Hubballi: So far, 432 children below 18 years have been infected with Covid in the district, said the district administration.

The District Covid positivity rate has crossed 17.69 percent on January 17 and a total of 2,476 cases are active, of which 2,321 patients are under home isolation, 44 patients are availing treatment at the Covid Care Centres, and 111 patients are admitted to hospitals, of which five patients are in ICU.

The district administration has reserved 3,235 beds in both private and government hospitals for the treatment of Covid infected patients.

Speaking to www.hubliexpress.com, District Health Officer Dr. B C Karigoudar said that the department is taking good care of patients under home isolation as most of the COVID-positive patients are not showing any severe symptoms and the majority of them are opting for home isolation, he said.

He said in the Twin Cities, as many as 34 teams consisting of two health care workers have been formed. These teams every day visit the houses of the patients under home isolation, check their vitals, and fill confidence among the patients.

He said the department is providing home isolation kits to the patients, which contain paracetamol tablets, cetirizine tablets, vitamin C and zinc tablets. He stated that the tablet kit will be given to them while they provide their swabs at the swab collection centers.
