Kalaghatgi: A teacher allegedly beat a class six student mercilessly for returning to school late after a physical training period, and her parents registered a case with the Kalaghatgi police, and the cops are conducting an inquiry into this allegation.

According to the police complaint, a teacher at a government primary boys school beat a class 6 student for returning late to class. The incident happened on December 16, but the case was registered on January 20. In the complaint, the boy’s father mentioned that as the boy was getting treatment at the hospital, they now approached the police.

In the complaint, it was mentioned that the boy had gone outside the school to buy a pen during physical training and came late to the class. The teacher, for this reason, took him to a room and beat him with a stick.

Inspector Mahantesh Koujalagi of the Kalaghtagi Police Station stated that they are investigating the ‘genuineness’ of this case.

According to local reports, the boy fractured his hand while playing Kabaddi at school. The police have to look into this angle also, the sources said.
