Sirsi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced on Sunday the establishment of the state’s first bioenvironmental University in Sirsi.
Speaking to reporters in Sirsi, the CM said since the environment and horticulture colleges are located in the district, a bioenvironmental university will be established in the district for the first time in the state by combining the two.
He said the university will be established in Sirsi for a comprehensive study of the environment, horticulture, agriculture, biodiversity, wildlife protection, population development, and economy in the district. The university will offer traditional education such as arts, commerce, and science degrees. He announced that a grant would be given in this budget for the establishment of this composite university.
