Koppal: If everything goes as per plan, Sindhanur is likely to welcome its first train by June this year.
If an 18.5-kilometer railway line is built between Karatagi and Sindhanur, the project to build a new railway line between Munirabad and Mehabub Nagar will be one step closer, and people in this region will be able to travel to Sindhanur, a prominent town in the Raichur district.
Till now, the Gangavati–Karatagi section has been commissioned and service has started. The target is to complete Karatagi-Sindhanur (18.5km).
Speaking to media people on Wednesday, Koppal MP Sanganna Karadi said that the union budget has kept aside Rs 210 crore for the Munirabad and Mehabub Nagar new railway line.
The budget also kept aside Rs 187 crore for the Gadag-Wadi new railway line. He stated that rail track had been laid all the way to Sanganal.
