Belagavi: A video of the former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Siddaramaiah, has gone viral on social media. The video allegedly shows Siddaramaiah suggesting that leaders offer Rs 500 to each person to bring people to a convention. The video was reportedly shot inside a modified bus that Siddaramaiah is using to address Praja Dwani Yatre across the state. The video quickly went viral after being leaked.
According to sources, the conversation took place while Siddaramaiah was traveling to Beedi, near Khanapur, from Balekundari after addressing a Praja Dwani rally in the district. In the video, Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar, Satish Jarakiholi, NH Konaraddi, and others were also present.
