Hubballi: Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah slammed the Union Government for celebrating the 100 crore jab milestone.
Siddaramaiah told reporters on Friday that they are celebrating the milestone by claiming that they have administered 100 crore doses, but in reality, they have only administered 29 crore beneficiaries with two doses and 42 crore beneficiaries have received a single dose of Covid vaccine in 10 months.
During the peak of the pandemic, however, 50 lakh people died owing to a lack of beds, oxygen beds, drugs, and ventilators. Four lakh people died in Karnataka alone. Narendra Modi says that they have reached a milestone, yet 50 lakh people have died as a result of Covid, said Siddaramaiah.
Siddaramaiah further claimed that the BJP was distributing money to voters in order to win elections.
“Not me, but the people of Hangal Constituency are saying so. The BJP has no evidence that they have developmental projects during their tenure. As a result, they are distributing money to lure voters n”Siddaramaiah alleged.
They are worried about losing both seats. The BJP government did nothing to the people of the Hangal Assembly constituency. Because they are afraid of losing their position, they are now telling the public that they would launch the Vision Hangal initiative. Why didn’t they start the same scheme as soon the BJP came to power? He questioned.
They are simply disseminating misinformation. So yet, they have not built a single house for the impoverished. “When I was chief minister, I awarded the constituency a grant of Rs. 2,400 crore. If they want proof let them ask BJP leader Manohar Tahsildar who was MLA when I was Chief Minister of the state,” said Siddaramaiah.
