Mysuru: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Siddaramaiah, has announced that the upcoming assembly election in Karnataka will be his final election before retiring from politics.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah revealed that he will be contesting from Varuna constituency, in which his birthplace falls and where he began his political career.
He expressed his special attachment to Varuna constituency, having contested the 2008 and 2013 elections from there. Responding to questions regarding the possibility of him contesting from Kolar, Siddaramaiah stated that he is willing to contest from Kolar assembly seat as well if the party’s high command asks him to do so. The Congress leader conveyed that his party is fully prepared to face the upcoming election.
