Hubballi: Residents of Shivanand Nagar in Hubballi have announced that they will boycott the upcoming assembly election, citing a lack of basic infrastructure in the area that has not been addressed by their elected representatives.
In a statement, the residents claimed that despite their repeated requests to authorities and politicians, their concerns have gone unheard. Shivanand (East) layout, which has around 1,200 voters, has reportedly been neglected for several years.
Anand Charantimath, a resident of the area, spoke to a few media over the phone and explained that the decision was made collectively at a meeting held in the locality. He further stated that political candidates have yet to visit the area.
