Hubballi: District-in-Charge Minister Jagdish Shettar called upon all the eligible beneficiaries to receive their vaccine against Coronavirus infection at the earliest.
He was speaking after launching a mass vaccination drive here on Monday. He was addressing policemen and their families at the Old CAR ground, where a vaccination camp was organized for the family members of the police personnel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified that states would be provided with vaccine doses at no cost to the state government, clearing up any confusion about vaccine procurement. Now the prime minister has clarified that all those above 18 years old will get the jab.
For the mass vaccination drive in the district, 201 vaccination centres were established. People have responded very well and a total of 50480 doses of the vaccine are available and the aim is to inoculate 27,000 beneficiaries, he said.
The minister said that, based on the request of Police Commissioner Labhu Ram, the family members of police personnel are being administered with the vaccine today, he said.
