Sony channel aired the promo for season 2 of the famous reality show Shark Tank India on Tuesday evening. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television, and its first season was a sleeper success, dominating the airways when it aired last year. With the noteworthy exclusions of Ashneer Grover and Ghazal Alagh, the entrepreneurship-focused show is now back, as are the majority of the original sharks.
Sony’s social media promotion depicts a lady buying vegetables from a cart and mocking the vegetable vendor by stating his entire cart is only worth Rs 70. To the woman’s surprise, the vendor then elaborates on his business concept including revenue collecting and claims that his company’s worth is actually 70 lakh. The commercial goes on to state that this shift was brought about by Shark Tank India, which is currently in its second season. Entrepreneurs, known as pitchers, present their company ideas to billionaire sharks in the hopes of receiving an investment from one or more of them.
Five sharks from the first season have confirmed their return: Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boAt), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics), and Amit Jain, a new shark, will join them (CEO and Co-founder – CarDekho Group, InsuranceDekho.com).
Fans may be upset to learn that fan favourite Ashneer Grover will not be appearing on the show this season. Last season, the businessman amassed a considerable social fan base thanks to his forthright responses that frequently bordered on rudeness. Ghazal Alagh, like him, will not be returning as a shark this season.
