Seven students of St. Anthony’s Public School tested positive for the Coronavirus infection. Hubballi City BEO Shrishail Karikatti said that the school was sealed down following the detection of cases.
He said two students tested positive on January 5, one student on January 6, and four on January 7. The nasopharyngeal swabs of the teachers and parents of the infected students have been collected and their results are waiting.
He said the students tested positive during routine testing of students by the health department. The health care workers visit every school and collect samples for COVID to detect asymptomatic students. He said that all the seven students of the school were asymptomatic. The school will remain closed till further orders of district administration, said the BEO.
