Series of Earthquakes, Including 4.4 Magnitude, Rattle Oklahoma Near Arcadia and Edmond
A series of earthquakes, including two of 4.4 magnitudes, struck Oklahoma from Friday evening to Saturday morning.
The seismic activity was centered near Arcadia and Edmond, northeast of Oklahoma City. Although no damages or injuries have been reported, the Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS) issued a statement highlighting the ongoing high seismic hazard in the area and advising citizens to secure valuables.
The earthquakes did not surpass the state’s record of a 5.8 magnitude quake in 2016, linked to wastewater injection by oil companies, which led to a lawsuit by the Pawnee Nation.
