If you are searching for a job and you have registered your name with private employment websites, then be careful. You might be cheated by online fraudsters.

A 42-year old Anand Nagar resident, who was searching for a job, had registered his name with a few employment websites, was duped by cyber tricksters, and lost Rs 1.99 lakh.

According to the police, the victim received a call from an unknown number on his mobile. The trickster claimed that he had come to know that he was searching for a job and had seen his profile on an employment website, a reputed employment website. The tricksters informed the victim that he would call the next day and help him land a job, and the next day, the fraudster called the victim and shared a link called naukariregisters. He asked the victim to fill out his information and pay a Rs 10 fee.

The victim agreed and filled out the form, and on the payment page, he paid Rs 10 and entered an OTP, but he received a message on his phone that his transaction was not successful. The victim informed the fraudster about the error, and the fraudster asked him to try once again. The victim tried to pay the amount using OTPs eight to ten times, and in the meantime, he came to know that Rs 99,999 was debited from his account.

To inquire about this, he called the fraudster once again. The fraudster asked the victim to dial 8750621120 and make a request to refund the debited amount. The victim promptly dialed the number, and a lady named Samiksha received the call. The lady asked him to click the refund option on the naukariregisters.in page. The victim clicked the refund option and immediately saw Rs 99,999 debited from his account.

He realized that he had been cheated and he registered a case with the Cyber Crime Police.
