Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s first cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday and it was decided to increase the pension of Sandhya Suraksha Yojana.
An increase in the old-age pension will help 35.98 lakh individuals. The Old Age Pension under the Sandhya Suraksha plan would be raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 at a cost of Rs 863.52 crore, benefiting 35.98 lakh individuals, said the new Chief Minister.
He also stated that a new scholarship programme for farmers’ children will be launched. “A new scholarship plan of Rs 1000 crores will be introduced for the children of farmers,” stated Bommai.
“At an additional cost of Rs 414 crores, widow pension has been enhanced from Rs 600 to Rs 800, benefiting 17.25 lakh beneficiaries. The financial support for Divyang people has been enhanced from Rs 600 to Rs 800 at a cost of Rs 90 crores, benefiting 3.66 lakh individuals,” said Bommai
