RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat made an appeal to the public, encouraging them to refer to the country as “Bharat” instead of “India.” Bhagwat argued that historically, the nation has been known as Bharat for centuries, and this traditional name should take precedence.
Addressing an audience at a Jain society event, Bhagwat emphasized, “Our nation has been called Bharat for generations, and this name remains consistent across languages.” He further stated that although “India” is commonly used, the country’s true identity is “Bharat.”
Bhagwat urged people to shift from using “India” to “Bharat” in practical contexts, believing that such a linguistic change could lead to a broader shift in perception. He emphasized the need to not only use the name “Bharat” but also to educate others about this historical designation.
