Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced that he will convene a meeting with health department officials, disaster management officials, and Covid advisory committee experts to discuss the rise in Covid cases in Dharwad, Bengaluru urban, and Bengaluru rural districts.
The CM expressed concern to the media at his RT Nagar residence about the rise in Covid cases in Dharwad, Bengaluru city, and Bengaluru rural district. He said a meeting would be conducted today at 4 p.m. to take preventative measures to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The preventative measures that the public must follow, according to the CM, will be announced after the meeting. These new cases, he claimed, were mostly reported from schools, colleges, and hostels. The cause of the rapid increase in instances in the state is still unknown. Was it due to a new Covid virus strain, or was it due to an increase in cases in Kerala? This would be discussed at length throughout the meeting, he said.
