Relentless programmes for public welfare: CM Bommai

Bengaluru: Ours has been a responsive government. We have responded appropriately whenever faced with problems. Programmes would be formulated relentlessly for the welfare of the people, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking to media persons, he said, “Ours is a responsive government. Therefore, there is no need for specific occasions like completing 100 days or 6 months to announce new programmes. For instance, we made arrangements for the procurement of Jowar immediately on receiving a request. Similarly, there is a demand for continuing procurement of Ragi. That too would be placed before the cabinet sub-committee and arrangements would be made to help the farmers. We respond immediately to people’s problems. There is no need for any occasion for that,” Bommai said.

No Birthday celebration

Jan. 28 is the birthday of Chief Minister Bommai, and when asked about how it would be celebrated, Bommai said, “I have never celebrated my birthday. So there will be no celebration tomorrow as well.

Booklet to provide an overview of the government’s achievements

A booklet giving an overview of the work done by this government in the last 6 months and how it has benefited the people would be released on Friday as part of the function to celebrate the completion of 6 months in office, Bommai said.
