Hubballi: “If former chief minister Siddaramaiah decides to contest the next Assembly election from Kalaghatgi constituency, I am ready to quit the constituency for him,” said former minister Santosh Lad.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said former CM Siddaramaiah is getting invitations from many Assembly constituencies to contest the election, and it is up to him from which constituency he wants to contest. “But if he desires to contest from Kalaghatgi, I am ready to sacrifice for him,” he said.
Not organising mass marriage for political gains
Lad clarified that he is not organising mass marriages for political gain. “In the past, I organised mass marriages; so far, my organisation has performed 1,200 marriages.” Due to COVID, marriages were not organized. This is purely a social service with no political implications. “This time we are aiming to perform 4,000 marriages, and this could enter the Book of World Records,” he said.
