Bagalkot: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah has stated that he won many elections from the Chamundeshwari constituency and chose to run from Kolar, but he would run from any constituency suggested by the party’s high command.
Reacting to the question on his search for the constituency, Siddaramaiah said, “If Modi contests from two seats, you say it is popularity, but if I contest from two seats, you say it is fear of losing. However, this time I’ve decided to run from only one seat.”
He also clarified that he opted for Kolar because Badami was too far from Bengaluru and he usually finds it difficult to travel; hence, he chose Kolar instead of Badami. He said he ran many times from the Chamundeshwari constituency and lost from the Koppal Lok Sabha constituency because, at that time, former PM Rajeev Gandhi was assassinated and a sympathy wave was created across the nation, he said.
