Raichur: Dr. Jayaprakash Bettadur, who miraculously emerged unscathed from a recent firearm assault on Thursday, had encountered menacing threat calls several months prior. The unidentified culprits had reportedly demanded a payment of 30,000 in cryptocurrency from the doctor. This revelation was made by Raichur’s Superintendent of Police, Nikhil B.
In a conversation with hubliexpress.com, SP Nikhil revealed that Dr. Bettadur had been subjected to two threatening phone calls. Law enforcement is diligently investigating this aspect as well. He assured that the police force is diligently working to apprehend the perpetrators and successfully resolve the case.
According to the Superintendent of Police, initial assessments suggest that the assailants discharged two rounds of ammunition, apparently from a locally made firearm. One shot misfired, but the second struck the doctor’s car hood. Ballistic experts would reveal more about the weapon, he said.
The attack occurred while Dr. Bettadur was en route from Raichur to Manavi. Dr Bettadur is a gynecologist practicing at Bettadur Superspeciality Hospital in Raichur.
