Bengaluru: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to address a rally in Kolar on April 5, at the same venue where he gave a speech that resulted in his disqualification from Parliament.
The rally, called “Satya Meva Jayate,” will be attended by senior party leaders such as AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, DK Shivakumar.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Shivakumar said that the rally will mark the beginning of a fight to save democracy. Shivakumar also welcomed the Election Commission’s decision to use new Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the upcoming elections, after they raised objections to the use of EVMs used in Gujarat.
He added that the people of Karnataka are looking to vote out the corrupt BJP government on May 10, which will mark a new beginning for the state. Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma expressed confidence that the party will repeat the results of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly election in Karnataka.
