Hubballi: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a scathing attack on the BJP government in Karnataka during an election rally in Navalgund seeking voters’ support for party’s candidate NH Konaraddi on Saturday.
Priyanka accused the BJP of looting public money to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the last four years, which has impeded the development of the state. She further highlighted rampant corruption in the BJP government, which has resulted in the suicides of contractors, farmers, and job aspirants.
During her speech, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that the BJP government is solely focused on the unlawful acquisition of public funds rather than addressing public issues. The Congress leader criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to provide solutions to problems and instead becoming a problem himself.
Priyanka urged the voters of Karnataka to think carefully and exercise their franchise right to teach the government a lesson. She also accused the BJP of forming the government illegally by betraying the voters’ mandate.
Furthermore, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra warned that the BJP is attempting to merge the popular brand Nandini into Amul from Gujarat, a move that would spell the end of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). The Congress leader reassured farmers that her party would always stand by them.
Mammoth Road Show
In support of the Congress candidate Kusumavati Shivalli, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra conducted a massive roadshow in Kundgol. The rally lasted for about thirty minutes, during which hundreds of people participated, standing on both sides of the road and on the terraces of buildings. Priyanka joyfully greeted the crowd, waving her hands, while party workers cheered and praised her. She urged the public to vote for Kusumavati and help the Congress form a robust government in the state.
Priyanka Gandhi meets college students
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s visit to Hubballi was met with enthusiasm from both the Congress leaders and college students. As a special gesture, she gave her autograph on the biography “Indira Gandhi: Tryst with Power” by Nayantara Sahagal to Pruthvika Ullagaddimath, a KSLU law student. Priyanka has a special affection for and cares for the youth, which she has demonstrated time and time again. Pruthvika Ullagaddimath was overjoyed to receive the signature and shook Priyanka’s hand, along with the other students who had gathered at the airport to receive her.
